The Secret That's Missing In Your Bench Press

Have you ever slid back on the bench pad or had your feet slip from underneath you?

This is not a bad thing!

I see lifters who do not know better and think they did something wrong when they slip.

Change the mindset!

I love when I see a foot slip out or movement back on the bench. That means you're creating force correctly!

Don't limit yourself because of your environment, find a way to fix it!

Quick fixes that you can apply are the slingshot brand benchmark, bands, and a yoga mat is always an awesome option because you can apply one under your feet as well!

Some of you may have the concern that you won't be able to apply bands at a meet so what's the point? At a meet I rarely see an issue with the platform equipment. That is all up to date good equipment. Usually the best bench pad and material the meet director has and typically a rug underneath the bench

So it's in training, and in warm up rooms you need to worry about this the most.

Not having traction can be severely limiting.

Next time something is slipping on you, don't press on the brakes. Find traction to prevent the slip and slam on the gas pedal!
